Mojang announced the Minecraft Legends release date alongside a brief overview of the RTS game’s PvP mode during Xbox’s first Developer_Direct. Minecraft Legends will release on April 18, 2023, for all modern platforms except mobile devices.
The news came at the end of a brief look at Minecraft Legends’ co-op mode, where two teams of four players each see who can capture the other’s base first. While you can technically do whatever you want, Minecraft Legends encourages cooperation and smart division of labor. You share an army and resources, so no one wins if you try hogging it all or doing everything yourself.
One player may stay back and build a devious base with traps and maze-like walls, while another could venture forth and scout important resources or start building a secret fort to launch redstone projectiles at your foes.
While the enemy base is your main target, you’ll also have to contend with Piglins and other enemy mobs who don’t really care who wins. They just want to destroy everything they see.
Each game features a procedurally generated map, just like regular Minecraft, so no two PvP sessions will be the same.
Expect more from Mojang in the lead-up to Minecraft Legends’ April release date.
