Moises Caicedo to Arsenal: Brighton to find ‘best solution’ before January transfer deadline

Brighton manager Roberto Di Zerbi says the club will find the "best solution" for wantaway Moises Caicedo after his "mistake" of going public with a desire to leave.

The midfielder was, as expected, missing from the Brighton squad to face Liverpool in the FA Cup fourth round on Sunday, having been asked to stay away until after Tuesday evening's January transfer window deadline.

Both Arsenal and Chelsea have had bids rejected for Caicedo in recent days, the Gunners' offer is understood to be worth around £60million.

Arsenal are expected to return with an improved offer but Di Zerbi does not believe an exit is guaranteed.

"Moises is a good guy, Brighton manager Di Zerbi told ITV. "We will see tomorrow and the next days what happens.

"We hope he stays with us for the rest of the season, but this a question for the club and Moises.

"Moises is a good guy. In life you can make mistakes. We will see the best solution for the club, for him and for us."
