Moises Caicedo has insisted he’s happy at Brighton and Hove Albion after being linked with a move to Liverpool during the summer.
Caicedo’s name was one that was continually linked with a move to the Reds after Jurgen Klopp admitted he would like to add a midfielder to his ranks. The 20-year-old further fuelled speculation linking him with a switch to Anfield when he started to follow several members of Klopp’s side on Instagram ahead of deadline day.
However, in the end, the Reds reached an agreement with Juventus for the season-long loan of Arthur Melo. The loan deal eases Liverpool’s midfield crisis, with Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all currently sidelined due to injury and Thiago Alcantara only just returning.

A statement on the Juventus website revealed that Liverpool have paid a £3.9m loan fee for the Brazil international, with the Premier League club having the option to sign Arthur permanently at the end of the loan for £32.3m.
Caicedo, who was also linked with Manchester United, remained at Brighton and scored in their 5-2 thrashing of Leicester City at the Amex on Sunday afternoon. And speaking post-match, the Ecuador star explained why he was never bothered by the transfer speculation that surrounded him during the summer.
He said: “All I was thinking about was to score and to dedicate the goal to my family, who were here in the stadium.
“It’s the second time they have been here in the stadium but the first time they have been able to celebrate one of my goals. I’m really happy they were here.”
Before he added: “I’m not thinking about any other club than Brighton. This is the club where I am now and I will give everything for this club and to keep doing well here.”
