Moises Caicedo breaks silence on future amid Liverpool, Chelsea and Man United transfer links

Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo has opened up about his future.

The Ecuadorian’s impressive displays for the Seagulls have seen him touted for a big-money transfer since the turn of the year. During the January window, Caicedo issued a statement outlining his desire to leave the club, but Brighton rejected bids of up to £70m from Arsenal for the 21-year-old, who has enjoyed an accelerated rise since making his Premier League debut at the start of 2022.

Liverpool have already brought in Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szboszlai to improve their midfield but have also been tentatively linked with a move for Caicedo. When asked about the future and for his thoughts about potential high-profile moves to the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea, the midfielder gave a relaxed response.

"It's a very great emotion," he told journalist Maria Jose Flores, via 90min. "What guy wouldn't want them to be talking about him?

"I know how to handle it. I don't get carried away by emotions. I'm enjoying time with my family for now. There is pressure, but I am calm. I am waiting for whatever God decides. He will know what is best for me."

The Telegraph has reported that Brighton are planning to demand more than £100m for Caicedo, influenced by Arsenal’s pending £105m move for West Ham United skipper Declan Rice. Chelsea are considered to be leading the race for Caicedo though it remains to be seen how Mauricio Pochettino’s side react to the Sussex club’s latest demands.

Meanwhile, Liverpool look to have turned their attention toward Southampton’s Romeo Lavis as the Reds assess the need for a more deep-lying midfielder. Caicedo will command a significant fee regardless, given that he signed a new deal in March until 2027 with an option for an extra year.
