Mohammed Kudus remains on Everton 'radar' but could be priced out of transfer from Ajax

Mohammed Kudus remains a player on Everton's radar but may have already priced himself out of a future move, according to the latest reports.

The Blues were said to be hopeful of securing a deal for the 22-year-old - who reportedly skipped Ajax training in a bid to force a move - earlier this summer, but Manchester United's late €100million move for Antony halted any further outgoings from Amsterdam. Everton added attacking reinforcements in any case, signing Neal Maupay from Brighton for around £15million.

According to the Express, Frank Lampard still retains an interest in the Ghana international and will be monitoring his situation in the Netherlands, but there are already fears that the Blues missed the boat by failing to land the star this summer.

Kudus has enjoyed an outstanding start to the new season at Ajax and does not look at all unhappy to have remained at the Johan Cruyff Arena. The attacking midfielder has played a huge role as Alfred Schreuder's side sit top of the Eredivisie with six wins from six.

The young star came on as a late substitute in all of Ajax's first four games as he accepted another season in Amsterdam, but since a half-time appearance against Cambuur at the start of September he has scored five goals and added two assists in essentially three-and-a-half games.

Blues fans caught a glimpse of what they could have enjoyed last night, with the Ajax star producing a stunning finish at Anfield to level the score in their Champions League clash against Liverpool - a game they eventually lost 2-1. But unfortunately, such an explosive start to the season is likely to send Kudus' price through the roof, with Everton's summer bid of around £15million already a fraction of the player's value.
