Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has congratulated Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-Min after they shared the Premier League’s Golden Boot.
Both Salah and Son netted 23 times in the league this season with the race for the award going down to the wire. The Egyptian was one goal clear of the South Korean heading into the final day and scored in Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Wolves. However, Son netted twice during Tottenham’s 5-0 demolition of Norwich City, which secured his side's qualification for next season’s Champions League.
Salah was clear of the Spurs man for most of the campaign but the latter’s inspired run during the final 10 games helped him claw back the deficit. Son netted 12 goals in a remarkable run of form while the Anfield hero struggled and only scored twice across the same period.

Nevertheless, Salah was humble and sent his congratulations to Son on social media. In a post that showed the Tottenham favourite returning to his homeland with the Golden Boot in hand, the Egyptian King shared the tweet and added: “Congratulations Sonny!”
This was the third time Salah had won the Golden Boot after previously receiving the award in the 2017/18 and 2018/19 seasons. While he will be disappointed to have not won it outright this campaign, he can still look back on a memorable season that could get even better if the Reds defeat Real Madrid in the Champions League final this Saturday.
