Mohamed Salah sends strong warning to Chelsea amid major Liverpool contract admission

Ex-Chelsea wideman Mo Salah has warned his former side that Liverpool are ‘really close’ to sealing a historic quadruple this season, with the sides going head-to-head for honours. Jurgen Klopp’s troops are right in the race to claim the Premier League title alongside Manchester City.

Meanwhile, they are also in direct competition with Chelsea for even more silverware with both sides still both in the FA Cup and Champions League - albeit the Blues’ involvement in the latter up in the air following the 3-1 defeat at the hands of Real Madrid. Liverpool have already got one over Chelsea so far this season having run-out winners in the League Cup final at Wembley Stadium.

Salah has suggested that the Reds aren’t stopping there though and are going after even more glory.

Speaking with Sky Sports, he said: "We wish we can do four [trophies].

"We've never done four before. This season we are really close and we are in top form.

"We've won the last 10 games in the Premier League so we are in a good way, and hopefully we can win the next game.

"We look at this situation now and we just have to enjoy it. We can't be in this situation and feel pressure. We just have to enjoy it and go for everything."

Whilst Salah is eyeing more silverware with the Reds, his time as a Liverpool player could potentially be coming to an end. The Egyptian forward sees his contract at Anfield expire next summer and as of yet, there is no sign of an agreement to extend that deal.

Whilst his future remains unclear, Salah has refused to drop any hints on what his the next year could hold.

He continued: "I can't be selfish and talk about my situation. We are in the most important period for the team so I have to just talk about the team, focus on what is coming with the team and that is the most important thing.

"That is all I can say. Hopefully we are going to be more optimistic and see what is going to happen."
