Mohamed Salah's FIFA snub as Jurgen Klopp 'ready to dismantle Liverpool attack'

Liverpool's Mohamed Salah was left out of the FIFPRO Men's World11 at The Best FIFA Awards ceremony on Monday evening.

The Reds forward has been on fire so far this season, is top of the Premier League goalscoring charts and has the second-highest number of assists, behind only his teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold.

But his impressive efforts this season weren't quite enough for the Egyptian to be named in FIFA's team of the year.

It comes amid reports Jurgen Klopp has made a decision to dismantle Liverpool's long-serving attack by selling Roberto Firmino, and after Salah praised a former teammate for his performance in the Premier League last weekend.

Here are Mirror Football's latest Liverpool headlines.

Coutinho applauded

Mohamed Salah has sent his congratulations to former Liverpool teammate Philippe Coutinho after the Brazilian made an impressive debut for new club Aston Villa.

Super-sub Coutinho sealed a sensational Aston Villa comeback as Steven Gerrard’s men fought back to claim a 2-2 Premier League draw with Manchester United on Saturday.

Coutinho netted a late equaliser to deny United the win as he impressed during his first match in a Villa shirt.

And following the game, Salah has applauded his former teammate's performance.

Salah snub

Mohamed Salah has been excluded from FIFA's Best World XI.

The Liverpool winger was not among the players named in the FIFPRO Men's World11 in the latest snub to the Egypt international.

Salah also finished in seventh place in last year's Ballon d'Or despite his fine form this season.

And he's now found himself behind five of his Premier League rivals in FIFA's team of the year as well.

Klopp 'ready to dismantle attack'

Jurgen Klopp is reportedly ready to sell Roberto Firmino to Barcelona this summer.

The Brazilian has formed one of Europe's most potent forward lines alongside Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.

The three forwards helped fire Liverpool to Champions League and Premier League glory, but one of the most successful frontlines in the Reds' history could now be dismantled by Firmino's departure.

Reports have suggested Barca could look to Firmino to become Sergio Aguero's replacement within their squad after the Argentine striker had to retire just months after joining on a free transfer from Manchester City due to health problems.

With Firmino's contract set to expire at the end of next season, Klopp may also not seek a massive transfer fee for the forward.
