Mohamed Salah's agent responds after Liverpool star caught in crossfire of brutal putdown

Vincent Aboubakar has bizarrely hit out at Mohamed Salah ahead of their African Cup of Nations semi-final clash.

Egypt and Cameroon square off on Thursday night with a place in the final against Senegal up for grabs.

And in the wake of the match, Porto striker Aboubakar has unexpectedly delivered a brutal putdown on Salah insisting the Liverpool star "doesn't impress him" and isn't on the "same level as Mbappe."

Salah has been in terrific form this season, arguably one of the best players in the world scoring 23 goals in 26 matches at club level, while playing every minute for his country at AFCON contributing to three goals in five matches so far.

Is Mohamed Salah on the same level as Kylian Mbappe? Comment below

He said: “I see it as before. He is having a great season in the Premier League, he is helping his country to advance in the competition.

“I wish him a lot of luck. May the best win!

“He doesn’t impress me much. I say it clearly because I’m an honest person and I have my way of seeing things.

“If he impressed me, I would say so. But he doesn’t impress me much. He’s a good player, he scores a lot but he doesn’t produce a lot of stuff in the game.

“Of course, he’s doing good stuff in the Premier League because he’s been in a team that’s been there for years.

“He’s a good player but not at the level of some like Mbappe.”

Salah's agent has since shown his support to his client after the unwarranted criticism from Aboubakar.

Ramy Abbas Issa, who is one of Salah's main representatives, 'liked' journalist Daniel Moxon's tweet, who is also the editor of Liverpool fan-led website and podcast Kopite, that compared Salah's career accolades to Aboubakar's.

Moxon joked that it was a sign that Salah's new contract extension is on the horizon as Liverpool remain locked in talks with the forward over a new deal.

Salah is reportedly looking for a £400k-a-week salary which would make him the club's top earner, but both parties have yet to come to an agreement with Liverpool unwilling to breach their current wage structure.

Abbas Issa is Salah's right-hand man and will be playing a key role in these discussions as the Egyptian's future hangs in the balance,

And it's clear to see he has his client's back after hearing Aboubakar's comments that, on the face of it, appear to be extremely harsh.
