Mohamed Salah's winner for Liverpool against Manchester City furthered his impressive record when he comes up against Pep Guardiola.
The Egyptian was sent clear by Alisson at Anfield to fire past Ederson and ensure the Merseysiders picked up three points. Salah's strike was his 14th goal involvement against City - the most of any player against teams coached by Guardiola, a period that spans 14 years.
Salah has scored some spectacular goals against the Manchester outfit, especially at Anfield. He netted from long range in 2018 and bagged a sensational solo goal last season. The forward was involved in an exchange with Guardiola at full-time after tensions had boiled over.
Professional lip reader John Cassidy has watched the footage and claims that Guardiola told Salah: "Have a good season, good game, you too, what's up? [hidden behind Salah]... There's no doubt about it, not maybe - definite. It's definite, definite."
The City boss was likely discussing the goal that was disallowed for his team when the game was still goalless. Phil Foden hammered home in front of the travelling fans before VAR intervened and urged Anthony Taylor to consult the pitchside monitor. The referee pulled the game back for an Erling Haaland foul on Fabinho, although the decision split opinion.
Guardiola has found getting results at Liverpool a tough task, securing just one win. His reverse last time out was his fourth defeat there in the league and he bemoaned, what he believed, was an error from the referee and the influence of the Anfield crowd on officials.

"The referee came to the coaches [before the game] and said play on, play on," he told Sky Sports. "There were a million fouls. But after we scored a goal, he decided it is not play on. This is Anfield."
City's Bernardo Silva added: "What we expect from the referees is consistency in the decisions and when you go through a path of not whistling little contacts throughout the whole game, you need to keep those decisions and keep going that way.
"If you want to whistle all of them, whistle all of them, but if from the beginning of the game you're not - he was letting us play which is good - then if there's a goal you cannot whistle that soft one. If you want consistency from the referee you cannot change just because there's a goal and just because it's a tough decision, you have to make the tough decision and keep the goal."
