Mo Salah admits he wants the new season to start immediately following his near misses with Liverpool.
The Egyptian enjoyed another stellar year on a personal level, claiming a third Golden Boot en route to being named the Football Writers' Player of the Year. However his efforts in front of goal were not enough to power the Reds to the Premier League or the Champions League.
Salah scored 31 times in all competitions, the majority of which came in the first half of the year. The forward helped the Reds win the two domestic cups - seeing off Chelsea on penalties on both occasions. But they missed out on the quadruple as two trophies bypassed them in the space of six days.
Now the 29-year-old wants to get back playing immediately after they fell short in Europe. He wrote on social media: "I cannot express in words how much we wanted to bring that trophy back to Liverpool but in the end we couldn’t. I cannot thank the fans enough for your support. It has been a very long season but a part of me wishes the next one starts again tomorrow."
Salah has confirmed he will be at Anfield next season despite his contract entering its final year. Talks have been underway for much of the campaign, but no resolution has been found with the club as of yet. The forward has no intention of leaving however.
He said recently: "I don't want to talk about the contract now, I'm staying next season for sure, that's clear." Beyond that though Salah's next move remains uncertain. The 29-year-old is open to joining one of Liverpool's Premier League rivals if he does leave Merseyside.

Salah is a legendary figure at Anfield but would have no issue joining a domestic rival if he did decide to seek a new challenge. He would rather remain in England which would open up a move to either of the Manchester clubs or Chelsea, who previously offloaded him.
Fenway Sports Group president Mike Gordon has been leading negotiations with Salah's agent but there have been no face-to-face talks since December, according to the Athletic. It was clear then that there was a huge difference between the player's financial wants and what the club were willing to offer.
Salah though has insisted his drawn out talks are not down to money. He previously told FourFourTwo. “I think the fans know what I want, but in the contract, it’s not everything about the money at all. So I don’t know, I can’t tell you exactly. I have one year left and the fans know what I want.”
