Kop hero Mohamed Salah has admitted that when it comes to keeping on top of his game, he is 'addicted' to analysing the difference small details can make.
The Egyptian has scored a remarkable 160 goals in 263 games for Liverpool, since moving to Anfield in 2017, winning almost every major trophy on offer to him and three times collecting the Premier League Golden Boot as well as double PFA and FWA Player of the Year awards.
But Salah's rise to the top is no happy accident and the player himself has confessed that it is his meticulous drive for attention to detail that has allowed him to reach the levels that he has.
Speaking to Premier League Productions, he said: “I give it too much attention, to be fair. I really focus on the small details because I think small details, at the end of the day, will make a huge difference between the players. In the details, I really try to ask about everything and have all the details.
“It’s not just in the game, it’s outside [of it] with food, drink, hydration, sleep time, everything. I’m really crazy and addicted to that because I think that’s made a huge difference.”
Salah only has two Premier League goals to his name in six appearances so far this season, but scored in Liverpool's last match against Ajax in the Champions League and found the net twice in Egypt's international friendly win against Niger last Friday (September 23).
Liverpool supporters and Salah himself will be hoping that the brace will kick the number 11 onto more goals on Saturday, when Brighton & Hove Albion visit Anfield in the Premier League. Salah will be sure to comb over the fine details of the opposition once more in a bid to exploit any weaknesses and keep himself on the goal trail.
