Mohamed Salah: Liverpool star prepared to sacrifice dream as Reds prepare to face Bayern Munich

Mohamed Salah has vowed to “sacrifice his dream” for the good of Liverpool as they compete for the Champions League and the Premier League title.

The Egyptian was left heartbroken after being forced off injured in last year’s final against Real Madrid.

But Jurgen Klopp’s side are just a point behind Manchester City, while their hopes of a quarter-final place are in the balance after a goalless draw against Bayern in the first leg.

And Salah admits both competitions are special but his preference differs to that of the club and fans.

“I will be honest with you, the most prestigious competition for me is the Champions League,” Salah said.

“But the dream for the entire city and the club is the league. So, I am happy to sacrifice my dream for their dream but if we win both that would great and this is what we are trying to do.”

Salah is primed to contribute, insisting he is both “sharp” and “mentally ready” for the challenges that come.

“All you can do is win your games and hopefully they will fail in one so we can win the title,” he added.

“My mind is sharp and there is pressure but I am strong mentally and we just have to keep going.

“We will see what we can do at the end of the season but mentally I am ready for everything.”
