The president of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan discussed in a telephone call on Wednesday with Russian President Vladimir Putin the relations between the two countries and the ways to promote friendship and cooperation, WAM news agency reported.
The two officials also discussed regional and international matters of common interest for both countries, added the agency.
The Kremlin said that the officials discussed OPEC+ cooperation and a Western price cap imposed on Russian oil.
In a statement, the Kremlin said attempts to impose the cap by some Western countries were contradictory to the “principles of global trade”.
