Here's a breakdown of everything Activision told us about their upcoming Call of Duty titles.
Modern Warfare 2 release date
Developed by Infinity Ward, Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer game mode will feature a new Loadout system which has been worked on the developer's previous weapon customisation system in Modern Warfare (2019). With the new system, Warzone 2 aims to give players more options when it comes to customising their weapons and other gear to suit their tastes and needs.
In terms of gameplay, improvements have supposedly been made on sprinting and mantling while also including a new swimming feature, providing more mobility options in the game. A new Raids game mode was also announced but it's not yet clear what this will consist of.
It has been announced that Modern Warfare 2 will launch on October 28 this year and will be available on PC, Xbox series S/X, and PlayStation 5.
Warzone 2 release date
Warzone 2 will take place on a completely new map - Al Mazrah - complete with a variety of points of interest and new areas. A new version of the Gulag will also be introduced where players will have to partake in 2v2 matches. The new and improved gulag will also come with new mechanics such as a warden and weapons spread out across the map.
While it has been confirmed that Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 will have cross-progression, a release date for the battle royale has still not been confirmed, however, Activision has said it will come out "later this year".
