Model left looking like 'shark in horror movie' after getting Turkey teeth

A model has issued a warning to those thinking about getting 'Turkey teeth' after his treatment went horribly wrong. Jack James travelled to Istanbul in September to have a fake pair of veneers fitted so he could "look better on camera."

The 22-year-old paid £3,000 for the procedure but just months later regret started setting in as he began suffering "terrible breath" and bleeding. According to the Mirror, the Manchester local was forced to book an emergency dentist appointment where he was told it would cost £20,000 to fix his teeth.

Jack said: "They looked good until they started to bleed and hurt. They started to puss and leak. My breath stunk. Following the check-up, Jack was told his teeth were in a terrible state and it would cost a whopping £20,000 to fix.

"I searched for an emergency dentist and had X-rays done. The dentist said my teeth were a mess and that I had an infection," he explained.

Jack got back in touch with the clinic in Turkey to see if they could help after being unable to afford the cost of having the treatment in the UK.

"They were adamant it wasn't their fault. They said I'd have to pay again to get it fixed," he said.

Jack was told the operation to have them fixed would cost £4,500. In June 2023 he flew back out to have the veneers removed and refitted.

A couple of months later, Jack said his gums began to bleed, puss and smell (Jack James / SWNS)

"They took all my teeth and the abscess out and put temporary teeth in. It took a few weeks for the infection to clear," he said.

Jack says he was shocked to learn his real teeth had been shaved down to look "like a shark". Problems only continued after returning home as a crown fell off while he was brushing his teeth, leaving him with a gap.

"It was like something out of a horror movie," the young model explained.

Jack is now urging others to do their research before travelling abroad for their dentistry treatments.

"I feel so upset with myself. I feel like plucking all my teeth out. I wish I'd got composite bonding but I can't change the past," he said.
