South Korean model and actress Jung Chae-yul has died, it's been confirmed. Her management announced her untimely death on Tuesday, however, her cause of death has yet to be confirmed.
Taking to Instagram, her management confirmed: "We are here to deliver heartbreaking news. Actress Chaeyul has left us. Her funeral will be held privately in accordance to the wishes of her family, who must be in greater sadness than anyone else. We hope you pray for the deceased so Chaeyul, who was also sincere in her acting, may rest in peace.”
Fans of the actress, who appeared on Netflix show Zombie Detective, have been grieving the star's death as tributes flooded in on her social media page.
The star was active on her personal Instagram page just two days ago. One fan wrote: "You became a star in the sky at such a young age.. Hope you're comfortable there."
Another added: "Such a heart-breaking news, may she rest in peace." A third saddened fan shared: "I wish you all the best there and only good memories. I'm so sad. I don't know how to feel."
Lee Soo Haeng, the star's management agency's CEO, described the actress as incredibly hardworking. He said: "She was a deep-hearted and cool friend. In my opinion, it is hard to describe in words how amazing she was as an actress."
Jung Chae-yul was best known for her roles in the K-dramas Zombie Detective, where she played the role of Bae Yoon Mi in 2020, and I Have Not Done My Best Yet.
The star made her TV debut in 2016 on the show Devil's Runaway and she made her movie acting debut in the 2018 film Deep.
The Netflix star was set to star in the upcoming K-drama Wedding Impossible, which is currently in production, although the team behind the series has since suspended filming until at least April 12 in the wake of the actress' death.
The cast and crew of the K-drama have been shocked and saddened by Jung Chae-yul's death.
