Mock trade sees Bulls flip Lonzo Ball for 2-time All-Star

The Chicago Bulls have made some solid moves so far this summer. They have re-signed both Nikola Vucevic and Coby White to three-year deals, and they’ve inked free agents Jevon Carter and Torrey Craig to contracts as well, greatly improving their depth. But is it enough?

At the end of this past season, Arturas Karnisovas stated that the Bulls had no intention of rebuilding the roster. But if that’s the case, then Carter and Craig aren’t enough. If they want to be a lock to make the playoffs, they need to make a massive splash on the trade market this summer.

During a stream for Bleacher Report, NBA YouTuber Sixringsofsteel suggested a trade that would see Chicago do just that.

Here’s the full outline of the trade he proposed:

Bulls receive: Pascal Siakam

Raptors receive: Lonzo Ball, Patrick Williams, Dalen Terry, 2024 first-round pick (via POR), 2024 first-round pick (via CHI)

Mock trade sees Bulls flip Lonzo Ball for 2-time All-Star: Potential holdup

The one potential holdup in this deal is the fact that Chicago just applied for a Disabled Player Exception for Lonzo Ball. That being said, this proposal was concocted before that news came through.

Mock trade sees Bulls flip Lonzo Ball for 2-time All-Star: Should the Bulls make this trade?

If Chicago is serious about competing for the playoffs, then this is the type of trade they have to at least consider.

As Siakam’s name continues to float around in trade rumors, this package could be pretty intriguing for the Toronto Raptors.

Lonzo Ball is essentially dead salary at this point, but Patrick Williams is a solid young player. And the two picks Toronto would be getting back in the deal would be a nice addition, too.

The Raptors would probably want more back in a potential trade for Siakam, but if he ever officially becomes available, the Bulls should definitely give Masai Ujiri a call.
