And now for something completely different…
The latest mock draft from Draft Wire and editor Luke Easterling brings a Monty Python theme to the Detroit Lions’ selections in the first round. This mock follows the path of the classic movie farce, “Monty Python’s Life of Brian.”
Both picks in the first round are named Brian. Well, the name is spelled differently, something Eric Idle and John Cleese would no doubt have some fun with.
Up first is Clemson DT Bryan Bresee at No. 6. No silly walk to the stage needed for Bresee to get his Lions jersey from Roger Goodell. He’s joined in Detroit in the first round by Alabama safety Brian Branch at No. 18. It’s an interesting look at the bright side of life on defense, one that would help build the upstart young Lions defense that finished the season as one of the NFL’s best.
