UK mobile phone providers have offered free phone calls, text messages and have dropped roaming charges to help people in Britain desperately trying to speak to families and loved ones living in war-torn Ukraine.
In a gesture of solidarity with the Eastern European country that has been invaded by Russia the UK's mobile phone network has teamed up together to drop all charges on calls and texts
Companies including Vodafone UK, EE, O2, BT and Three UK today announced all mobile phone contact with Ukraine would not be charged.
Vodafone UK tweeted: "Effective immediately, Vodafone UK is crediting all calls to Ukraine and waiving any roaming charges for Vodafone UK customers currently in Ukraine. We stand in solidarity with all Ukrainian people at this worrying time."
BT also tweeted: "For anyone wanting to contact loved ones in Ukraine, we’ve made mobile and landline calls, texts and data to and from the region free from today, 25 February."
Three UK added: "For our customers in Ukraine or those contacting loved ones from the UK, we're here to help in any way we can."
