A man is in hospital with serious head wounds after being attacked by a violent mob of youths in Glasgow.
The 38-year-old had left a bar on King Street, Merchant City, on Friday, May 6, before he was pounced on by the gang.
Emergency services attended and the victim was taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
Detectives have launched an investigation into the incident and are appealing to the public for information.
In particular, they want to hear from pedestrians who would have been in the area at the time or motorists with dash-cam footage.
Detective Constable Larissa Cooper said: “This incident took place in a busy part of the city, so we believe there will be a number of pedestrians and motorists who will have seen the attack.
“We are asking for anyone with information or potential dashcam footage to please come forward.
