In just two years, Welshman Rhys Williams' try against Toronto Wolfpack has amassed an astonishing 53 million views.
The try is pretty exceptional in itself, with an 80-yard run in for the score, but that's not why this video went completely viral back in 2020.
The Welsh winger seems to be the spitting image of Liverpool FC superstar Mohamed Salah. Williams bares the iconic Salah hairstyle, whilst also stepping on the gas just like the Egyptian winger. The likeness left millions of people open-mouthed.
Even the try is something to behold, straight from kick off Williams catches, looks for the pass, and then he really puts on the afterburners.
Like a hot knife through butter, he scythes through the defensive line with one man to beat. No need for a side step or chip-and-chase, just raw gas, he makes for the corner, touching down to execute a marvelous run.
It is undoubtedly one of the most viral rugby videos ever, with 53 million views, over 2.6 million likes and thousands of comments. The only known rugby video to be watched by more people is this incredible haka moment from 2011.
Viewers absolutely loved the clip, from members of both the football and rugby communities.
"From 0-100km/h faster than a tesla roadster." said one fan.
"This is literally rugby's version of Salah, I love it." said another.
Williams, who is a Manchester United fan, started growing out his hair whilst at London Broncos, and started getting called 'Mo' by opposing player Blake Austin of Warrington Wolves. He is still with Salford, but has lost the likeness with Salah, sporting much shorter hair. However, the speedster will always have his place in rugby's social media folklore after this iconic clip.
