Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell is reportedly among a number of potential summer targets for Man City, should they need to replace Joao Cancelo.
The Portuguese international joined Bayern Munich in a shock deadline-day move, arriving on loan for the remainder of the campaign in a deal that can be made permanent at the end of the season for £61.6million. Reports of a training ground bust-up between the defender and Pep Guardiola, combined with the City manager's acceptance to let him leave so late in the window, hint that the aforementioned option may well be taken up.
That undoubtedly leaves the Blues short at left-back, with Nathan Ake - naturally a centre-back - currently the preferred choice while Sergio Gomez has failed to hit the ground running. As such, a potential replacement for Cancelo has become a priority for Guardiola, with Txiki Begiristain and his team set to scour the market between now and June.

According to the Times, Chilwell is among a list of targets at the Etihad with the England international previously of interest back in 2020. City tried to lure the left-back to Manchester that summer following an impressive season at Leicester City, only to fall short of Chelsea's £50million offer.
The 26-year-old has since played just 68 games for the Stamford Bridge side in the two-and-a-half seasons since, his time in London has been plagued by a number of injuries including a ruptured cruciate ligament that kept him sidelined for the majority of the 2021/2022 campaign.
Elsewhere, Spanish outlet Sport, report that Bernardo Silva has asked City to let him leave this summer as he awaits an approach from either Barcelona or Real Madrid.
The 28-year-old looks set for another summer of uncertainty, following previous windows in which he has made clear his openness to exploring a move elsewhere. Just over one month ago, Silva said himself that he 'will probably move to a new project' if the right offer comes along.
Barcelona failed in their attempts to land the midfielder last summer but look likely to return, and the report adds that Silva would be open to moving the Camp Nou or their major rivals Madrid come summer, fulfilling his desire to play in the Spanish league.
The midfielder is contracted at City until 2025 and does not want to cause any problems in leaving the club, hence a reluctance to do so mid-season.
