SEATTLE - The Houston Astros have had it difficult to be a consistent team during the first few months of the season. But despite the team struggles, someone who has found a way to remain a threat for opposing pitchers has been Cuban designated hitter Yordan Álvarez.

In his latest outing against the St. Louis Cardinals, Álvarez helped ignite the Astros comeback with a two-run home run in the bottom of the third to put the Astros on the scoreboard. A late rally with four runs scored in the eight saw the Astros take a 7-4 win over the Cardinals.

After his two-run homer, he doubled and scored a run in the bottom of the sixth to cut the deficit to just one run. The Cuban has been on fire lately, currently holding a seven-hit streak that includes three homers and four multi-hit games.

Against the Cardinals, he went 2-for-3 for his 21st multi-hit game of the season. The Astros are 12-9 when Álvarez has multiple hits in a single game this season.

Despite his low RBI production (27 RBI in 260 PA), Álvarez is still slashing a line of .287/.362/.496 with 12 home runs this season. Only Kyle Tucker (19) has more among Astros players.

The two-time All-Star is starting to heat up for the Astros and has only gone three games without recording a single hit in his last 24 outings. Since May 9, only Luis Arraéz and Ezequiel Tovar have more hits than the Cuban (33) all across the majors.
