The 162-game Major League Baseball season is bound to produce its fair share of hilarious moments, and Reds pitcher Brandon Williamson delivered one for the books Monday night.
Not all pitchers are known for their ability to defend the position, and Williamson took that to a new level in the second inning of Monday’s matchup with the Rockies. Colorado catcher Elias Díaz popped one up directly to the mound, no more than a couple of steps from where Williamson landed. But rather than catching the ball himself, Williamson simply pointed to it in mid-air and let the infielders rush in around him, with first baseman Joey Votto making the catch.
The video is well worth a watch.
