Mitra Auto founder Maganti Subrahmanyam passes away

Industrialist Maganti Subrahmanyam, 80, passed away here on Monday.

He is survived by his wife, sons and a daughter.

He served as the Chairman of the Venkateswara Swamy temple at Labbipet in the city. He was an ardent devotee and follower of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham.

Subrahmanyam used to be at the forefront in organising dharmic activities in the city and elsewhere. Veda Vidwat Paravadhaka Sabha was a regular event under his aegis where Vedic scholars were felicitated. 

He entered automobile business in 1954, and carved a niche for himself in the industry. He founded Mitra Auto Agencies, the dealers of Maruti Suzuki vehicles.

Vijayawada Central MLA Malladi Vishnu, former city Mayor Jandhyala Ravi Shankar, former Chief Secretary of A.P. L.V. Subrahmanyam and others paid tributes to him and expressed their condolences to the bereaved family members.
