Mitchell returns to fullback as Bennett chases answers

Latrell Mitchell will make his first appearance of the year at fullback as Wayne Bennett shuffles the deck seeking answers to South Sydney's humbling loss to Canterbury.

While Lachlan Galvin's shock recall for Wests Tigers' hosting of Cronulla dominates the NRL's team naming news, Mitchell getting his cherished No.1 jumper back for Friday night's Anzac Day showdown with Melbourne at AAMI Park is another huge call.

Mitchell went missing after starting at five-eighth in last Friday's 32-0 loss to the table-topping Bulldogs.

The NSW State of Origin star was shunted to the centres for the second half but has now been red-carpeted back to his preferred position at the expense of the in-form Jye Gray.

Gray has been benched for the clash with the premiership favourites despite being one of the form players in the competition and leading the Dally M medal count during the early rounds.

Elsewhere, coach Benji Marshall has swallowed his pride and restored Galvin to the halves for Sunday's meeting with the Sharks after dumping the want-away teenager to NSW Cup last week.

Galvin will be back in the No.6 jersey to partner Jarome Luai in the halves at Leichhardt Oval, with Adam Doueihi shifting to the centres, Brent Naden to the wing and Luke Laulilii dropping out.

Manly have received a mighty boost for their clash with Penrith at Commbank Stadium on Saturday night, with star fullback Tom Trbojevic named to return after three games out with a knee injury.

Lehi Hopoate reverts to the wing, Tommy Talau goes to the bench and Clayton Faulalo misses out.

Like Bennett, fellow master coach Trent Robinson has made it clear he wants a response from his Sydney Roosters in the Tricolours' annual Anzac Day showpiece with St George Illawarra.

Robinson has dumped Dom Young to make way for the classy Billy Smith's return to the centres, pushing Mark Nawaqanitawase to the wing.
