Latrell Mitchell's injury problems have worsened with the South Sydney superstar forced off early in the NRL match against St George Illawarra.
A week after requiring a cortisone injection in his knee following the Rabbitohs' loss to Penrith, Mitchell lasted just 15 minutes before suffering a hamstring injury at Accor Stadium on Saturday.
After scoring the opening try, the fullback was hurt in an innocuous-looking tackle from Tariq Sims and Aaron Woods with Souths up 4-0.
Mitchell did not look in serious discomfort as he left the field, but the Rabbitohs ruled him out for the rest of the match.
Souths were at least able to bring Blake Taaffe onto the field as his replacement, with the deputy fullback returning from an ankle injury.
