Mitchel Frame 'agrees' new Celtic contract until 2026

Talented Celtic youngster Mitchel Frame is reportedly set to commit his future to the club.

It is believed that the defender, 17, has been in negotiations over a new contract at his boyhood club for some time.

His current deal is set to expire in the summer of 2025.

However, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the full-back has decided to pen a one-year extension on fresh terms at the Scottish champions.

This morning, Romano took to X: "Understand Mitchel Frame signs new contract at Celtic today — exclusive story set to be confirmed. It will be valid until June 2026."

Frame has impressed greatly for the club's B team and was a star for the Under-18s too.

Back in May, reports emerged stating he was being tracked by both Brighton and Crystal Palace of the Premier League.

But the Scotland U17 international has opted against a move down south, instead committing himself to Celtic.

An official announcement is expected by the club soon.

Meanwhile, Italy international Alessio Romagnoli looks set to miss Lazio's Champions League showdown at Celtic next week after suffering a broken nose.

The former AC Milan defender is a key man for Maurizio Sarri's side and played in Lazio's return to winning ways in midweek when they beat Torino 2-0.

But he suffered a clash of heads during the game and although he played on for the 90 minutes he had to get treatment after the game.

And Lazio has confirmed the 13-times capped Italian international suffered a broken nose.

They stated: "The medical staff communicates that Alessio Romagnoli underwent clinical and instrumental tests at Paideia International Hospital.

"The tests highlighted a compound fracture of the nasal bones caused by a trauma sustained during the match. The player has already started specific treatment and will be subjected to daily clinical monitoring."

He will definitely miss Lazio's weekend clash against AC Milan today and is expected to be out for the following games against Celtic and Atalanta.
