The Steelers suffered an ugly loss Thursday night against the Patriots, going down 21–18 in front of a disappointed home crowd at Acrisure Stadium. Quarterback Mitch Trubisky didn’t help with an underwhelming performance, throwing for only 190 yards with one touchdown pass and one interception.
Following the game, Trubisky took responsibility for the loss, saying his poor play prevented the Steelers from winning.
“I’ve got to play better,” Trubisky told reporters, per the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review’s Chris Adamski. “I feel like I let the guys down.”
Fans who watched the game didn’t disagree with Trubisky’s self-assessment. Here’s a sampling from social media:
He did. Why anyone still believes he’s an NFL quarterback is just beyond me. It’s the same thing everywhere he goes.

yes you did. really not once but twice in short yardage gain you throw deep when all you needed was a couple yards you had 2 TDs and one was gifted to you by a blocked punt.

He definitely did. It's hard to make Mason Rudolph look appealing, but he managed to do just that.

I’d say the Steelers feel that way too

I always wonder. How much work and preparation do guys like Trubisky put in day to day and week to week to stay prepared? Or, is he just sitting it out and collecting a check. He looked like he hadn’t thrown a pass since high school. Some backups step in and shine from play #1.

Trubisky and the Steelers get some extra time to work on their deficiencies ahead of a Week 15 game scheduled for Dec. 16 against the Colts (7–5) in Indianapolis.
