The Ohio State football team will have a little more depth back on the team next season as it’s been reported that super senior Mitch Rossi will return for one more year. The news was reported by Dan Hope of Eleven Warriors, who spoke to Rossi’s father.
Rossi was a walk-on for the Buckeyes in 2017 but has seen his playing time increase over the years. We’ve watched the tight-end turn into a hybrid of sorts between the tight-end position and a full back. Rossi caught four passes this season for 28 yards and a touchdown.
With Jeremy Ruckert headed to the greener pastures of the NFL, Rossi will be the most experienced tight-end in the room.

It’s hard to say if his participation in the offensive game plan will continue to grow or not. At the very least, Rossi will be counted on as an experienced leader to help mold a relatively young group of talented tight ends.
