Two Missouri women vacationing in Florida found themselves in a sticky situation that led to their arrest following a physical altercation over a golf cart and Disney World tickets. The incident, which took place on Monday, May 6, resulted in both women facing charges of battery.
The altercation occurred at a residence in Wildwood, Florida, where police were called to intervene. Katherine Northrup, 31, and Gina Danforth, 28, were reportedly involved in a heated argument that escalated into a physical fight. According to the arrest affidavit, Northrup and Danforth were upset over the ownership of a golf cart and tickets to Disney World.
Police arrived at the scene to find the two women engaged in a physical altercation, with Northrup allegedly becoming belligerent during the incident. Northrup claimed that Danforth had gotten into her face and started spitting, leading to a scuffle where punches were thrown.
Both women admitted to participating in the fight, but authorities were unable to determine the instigator due to a lack of credible witnesses. Northrup sustained scratches on her neck, elbow, and stomach during the scuffle and received medical attention from EMS at the scene. Danforth, who was not feeling well, was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
Following the altercation, both women were arrested and charged with battery. They were taken into custody and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. After posting $1,000 bond each, Northrup and Danforth were released from jail.
While the exact details leading up to the brawl remain unclear, the incident serves as a reminder of the importance of resolving conflicts peacefully and avoiding physical altercations. Both women are expected to appear in court to address the charges brought against them.
