Missing woman and her four children found 'safe and well' after urgent garda appeal

A woman and her four children who went missing from Roscommon last week have been found "safe and well".

Martina Ward, 32, and her four kids, Charlie Carthy, 5, Edward Carthy, 4, Tom Carthy, 2, and Emily Carthy, 10 months, had not been home since Wednesday, June 28.

They were last seen on the Main Street in Swords on Wednesday, prompting gardai to issue an urgent missing persons appeal yesterday.

Gardai had expressed concerns about the well-being of Martina and her four children however, the young family have since been located.

Gardai confirmed in a statement on Friday they had been found, writing: "Martina Ward and her four children have been located safe and well.

"No further media action is required.

"An Garda Síochána would like to thank the media and the public for their assistance."
