A missing Ayrshire schoolgirl who has failed to return home since last Friday is believed to have travelled to Edinburgh amid serious concerns over her wellbeing.
Sophia Gourlay was last seen on the morning of March 18 in Hurlford, but has failed to contact friends since.
The 14-year-old has connections in the capital and East Lothian and is thought to have made the trip East after last being seen at around 10:55am in the town.

Police have since launched an urgent appeal for neighbours in both Ayrshire and Edinburgh to contact them immediately if they have any further information on her whereabouts.
The teenager is described as being white, around 5’6 in height with a medium build, long brown hair and brown eyes.
She was reported to have been wearing a blue quilted jacket, grey leggings and black Nike running shoes.

Sergeant Lorraine Fraser from Kilmarnock Police Office, said: “We are becoming increasingly concerned for Sophia’s well-being and we would like to trace her as soon as possible to ensure that she is safe.
"We would also like to appeal to Sophia herself to get in touch should she see this appeal. “
