A helicopter has been deployed as part of a frantic search for a missing Scots teen who was last seen in a river.
Bryce Grant, known as Forbes, has vanished from the Inverugie area of Peterhead sparking a multi-emergency operation in the town.
The 16-year-old was last seen in the River Ugie at around 5pm on Thursday, April 28.
A low flying helicopter was filmed in an area over the river by worried locals late last night.
Emergency services are using specialist equipment, such as thermal imaging, to search for Bryce.
To ensure they are not hindered in their operations, police have requested that the public stay away from the area.
At this time the search is being conducted by emergency crews and officers say they "are not looking for assistance from the public to search".
Bryce is described as 5’ 8” in height, slim build with dark hair, longer at the top, with short sides. At this time it is unknown what he is wearing.
Inspector Sharp of Peterhead Police Office said: “We will commence searching again this morning in the area effort to trace Bryce.
"Officers will be assisted by Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and Coastguard and we would ask that members of public stay away from the area whilst searching is carried out to ensure we are not hindered in any way.
“I would like to thank the public for their patience in this matter.
“We are keeping Bryce’s family fully updated on our activity.”
If anyone has seen Bryce they are urged to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3535 of April 28.
