Missing Scots man last seen in early hours of New Year's Day found "safe and well"

A missing Scots man Cops were "increasingly concerned" for has been "traced safe and well" after a search.

The force said officers were worried for the the welfare of Gareth Donald, who drove off in his car in the early hours of New Year's Day.

Gareth, from Dundee, hadn't been seen since 1am today, when he left his home address in his silver VW Golf, with the registration plate FT11 YTV.

The 45-year-old was described as 5ft8 in height, slim build and short brown hair. When he was last seen, he wore dark jeans and a black jacket. The force confirmed this evening that Gareth had been found.

This afternoon, the force said: "Police Scotland are pleased to report that Gareth Donald, who had been reported missing from the Dundee area, has been traced safe and well."
