Missing Scot who vanished overnight found safe and well by police

Police searching for a man reported missing after vanishing overnight from a Borders village say he may have travelled by public transport. Alexander Gordon Stewart was last seen at around 4.30pm on Friday in the Galashiels area, but has failed to make contact with concerned loved ones.

The 57-year-old is described as being white with a tanned complexion, around 5ft 5in tall, with an average build and with short dyed black hair, which is receding.

He was last known to be wearing a navy blue jumper, a brown jacket and brown shoes. Anyone who believes they have seen Gordon is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
