Missing schoolboy sparks police search as concerns grow for 'welfare'

A missing schoolboy has sparked a huge police investigation in Renfrewshire.

Josh McDowall was last seen at his home in Erskine at around 8am on Monday, February 28.

Concerns are growing for the 15-year-old's welfare.

Josh is described as white, five foot, eight inches tall and of a slim build, with short brown hair.

He is believed to be wearing a black French Connection jacket, royal blue Lacoste tracksuit bottoms and black Nike trainers.

The teen has links to Paisley, Greenock and Glasgow city centre which he might have travelled to by bus or train.

Anyone who thinks they have seen Josh, or has information on his whereabouts, should contact police.

Renfrewshire Police Division launched an appeal in a bid to trace the schoolboy on Tuesday morning.

It read: "We’re appealing for the public’s help as part of our efforts to trace a male reported missing from Erskine.

"Josh McDowall was last seen at his address in Erskine around 8am on Monday, February 28.

"The 15-year-old has not been seen since and there are growing concerns for his welfare.

"Josh also has links to the Paisley, Greenock and Glasgow City Centre areas where he might have travelled by bus or train.

"Anyone who may have seen Josh since this time, or who has any information which could be relevant, is urged to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident number 2362 of February 28."
