Missing former rugby and X Factor star Levi Davis hasn't used his phone or bank account for two weeks, it has emerged.
Levi's mum, Julie Davis, has now arrived in Barcelona where her missing son, 24, was last seen in an attempt to retrace his footsteps.
Police in the Catalan city have said his mobile phone signal was last picked up near to Barcelona's Sants mainline train station overnight on October 29.
However, the phone has not been used since and he has not taken any money out of his bank accounts either, the Mail reports.
The station is just over two miles from the Old Irish Pub on the La Rambla street, where the former Bath rugby union star was last seen.
Earlier this week, CCTV footage was released of him leaving the bar at 10.05pm on October 29 having left Ibiza earlier the same day.
He had travelled to Europe to take time out in the wake of an injury to the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee which had sidelined him from rugby.
Speaking to Spanish press near to the spot where he was last seen after flying to the Catalan capital, Julie said: “When I asked him where he would stay, he didn’t want to give me any address, he said he would be moving around and he was an adult.”
Confirming his apparent and worrying financial situation following his “sudden” departure from Ibiza without a change of clothes or his passport, she added: “Since then he hasn’t used his bank cards and he only had 40 euros on him.”
She told Spanish daily ABC that he suffered depression and had gone missing on previous occasions but for “no more than two or three days".
“He would always come back or we would find him but it’s been 12 days now and this is not normal," she added.
“He must be disorientated or confused.”
Police in Barcelona are understood to have confirmed Levi is not in hospital and has not been arrested as part of an “emergency” response to a missing persons report they started working on.
Officers from the regional Mossos d’Esquadra force in the Catalan capital confirmed on Tuesday they had decided to launch a hunt for the missing rugby player on their own initiative while they waited for official confirmation he had disappeared from friends or relatives.
The situation then changed on Wednesday when a friend formally reported him missing in Barcelona before a family missing persons report filed in the UK reached them.
And on Thursday afternoon it emerged that pal was Ibiza-based Richard Squire, who was with Levi until his “sudden” disappearance on October 29 and had started a GoFundMe appeal to raise money so his family could travel to Spain.
A Mossos spokesman confirmed before the meeting between Levi’s mum and investigators: “When someone is formally reported missing we have emergency procedures which include checks to see if that person could be somewhere like a hospital or in police custody.”
In a message for the online fundraiser, his friend wrote: “Levi has struggled with his mental health for many years and we, his friends and family, are extremely concerned for him.
“Thanks to so many people sharing his image and poster, we've had some possible sightings and need to get his friends and family on the ground in Spain to walk the streets looking for him and follow up on any leads.”
