Missing man from Edinburgh who 'may have been barefoot' traced safe and well

A man who went missing from Edinburgh, sparking a police search, has been found safe and well. Michael Meehan was last seen on Rose Street at around 3.30pm on Thursday, July 21.

Following the 41-year-old's disappearance, officers conducted enquiries in the city centre and Portobello and launched an appeal for help in tracing him as worries mounted for his welfare.

Now, cops have confirmed that Michael has been traced safe and well.

Police thanked the public for their assistance in spreading the word and assisting the search efforts.

A spokesperson for Edinburgh Police Division said: "We can confirm that Michael Meehan, reported missing from Edinburgh, has been traced. Many thanks to everyone who responded to and shared our appeal."
