Police have found the car of a Scots hillwalker five days after he was reported missing in the Highlands.
Derek Hepburn, from Nairn, has not been in touch with his family since Sunday, April 24.
The 53-year-old's disappearance has been described as "completely out of character" as police begin their fifth day of the search.
It is believed that the hiker left his home address to carry out a walk nearby.
Officers have confirmed that his vehicle has been located more than 50 miles from his hometown in the Loch Mullardoch Dam car park in Glen Cannich.
His planned route is currently unknown, though enquiries so far suggest he may have intended to complete a walk on Sgurr Na Lapaich or in the surrounding area.
Inquires are ongoing to establish his plans.
Chief Inspector Jenny Valentine said: “We are growing increasingly concerned for Derek as he has been out of contact with his family and friends since last weekend.
“I would urge anyone who believes they may have seen him on or after Sunday 24 April 2022 to get in touch urgently.
“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 1812 of 27 April.”
Derek is described as 6ft 1in, of slim build, with black hair which is balding. He is normally clean shaven or with light stubble.
It is not known what he would have been wearing.
