The best friend of missing influencer Gabby Petito claims she had 'problematic' relationship with fiancé.
Rose Davis said Brian Laundrie, 23, allegedly hid Gabby's ID so she couldn't meet up with her at a bar, trigging a violent episode similar to the one police investigated weeks before her disappearance.
"Brian took her ID just so she wouldn't be able to come out with me," she told DailyMail on Friday.
"He's got these jealousy issues and he struggles from what Gabby called these 'episodes' where he would hear things and hear voices and wouldn't sleep.
'"Gabby had to stay at my house a bunch of times because she just needed a breather and didn't want to go home to him."
Laundrie was traveling with Gabby out west while filming their adventures for a 'van-life' YouTube channel she was creating, returned home to Florida alone on September 1 but she did not follow.
Rose, 21, who lives in Sarasota, Florida near Gabby and her partner's home said she last spoke to her friend in early August.
She had planned to take days off for the trip and the pair were trying to tie down a specific date on August 29, Rose's birthday, but the missing influencer never called.
Gabby's mother Nichole Schmidt then received text on her daughter's phone saying there was no service in Yosemite.
The national park is around 800 miles from the Grand Teton National Park-Yellowstone area where Gabby was last known to be on August 25.
She said she is sure her daughter didn't send that message, suggesting it could have come from Brian, to possibly distract from her real whereabouts.
Local police have issued a statement on Twitter which states while Mr Laundrie is a person of interest in Gabby’s disappearance, he is not wanted for a crime.
Rose and Gabby became friends after texting one another which led to them going everywhere together.
Gabby, who worked at at a Taco Bell Mexican fast food restaurant, would occasionally join Rose when while delivering pizza.
During this time she got to know Laundrie and would visit their home in North Port, but she claimed Mr Laundrie had a jealousy issue.
The Daily Mail reported Rose and Gabby were so close they would share their locations with each through an iPhone app, but she claimed when Mr Laundrie found out, he made his fiance delete it
Rose also claimed she be home for dinner but he would demand to pick her up.
Body camera footage was shared by the police of an incident involving the two in Moab, Utah on August 12. when a witness called 911 after seeing the couple fighting.
Gabby appeared like she was breathing heavily and crying, when police pulled the couple over.
But Mr Laundrie seemed composed despite showing scratch marks on his face.
Gabby was seen with tears streaming down her face by police, she also told police she suffers from OCD and anxiety.
The body camera footage taken by police reminded her of the ID episode from Florida.
Last summer, Gabby was driving to a bar to go line-dancing with Rose in Sarasota when she noticed her driver's license ID was missing from her wallet.
Rose claimed she had tried to get Gabby to reconsider her engagement to Mr Laundrie.
And she told her mother told her mother she had called it off but Rose claims they were still looking to get married
Rose claimed Mr Laundrie didn't support her in her blog and said he did not appear to have any friends.
