Missing Fife walker traced 'safe and well' following massive search operation

A missing Fife walker has been traced 'safe and well' following a massive search operation involving mountain rescue. Police issued an appeal earlier today to try and trace Craig Williams, 29, who was last seen walking from Naysmyth Place in Kelty towards Lochore Meadows, near Harran Hill, at around 10.45am.

Mountain rescue teams had been seen near to where the missing man was last spotted as they joined the search. Officers have now confirmed that Craig has been traced 'safe and well' and the search operation has been stood down.

Craig was described as being 5ft 9in tall, of a slim build with a beard. He was last seen wearing a padded orange and black coat, a grey hoodie, grey baggie jeans and a black tammie hat.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Craig Williams, 29, who had been missing from Kelty since this morning, Monday, 20 March 2023, has been traced safe and well this evening in the Ballingry area of Fife. Thank you for your assistance in sharing our appeal."
