The Metropolitan Police has flagged an appeal to find Layla, who was last seen at 2pm on Monday near Clapham Village Hall in Bedford.

The force believes she may have caught the train to south London.

A statement released on Tuesday added: “She is described as having long dark hair sometimes worn with two plaits running down the front. She is light in complexion, 5ft tall and of slim build.

“When Layla was last seen, she was wearing a black Nirvana hoodie, shiny black leggings and black Nike trainers.”
