A missing man has been found alive, and arrested, two weeks after police believed he had drowned.

Jacob Norris, 22, left his Adelaide southern suburbs home about 5:45am on July 13.

His car, a red Mitsubishi Lancer, was found abandoned on the Esplanade at Aldinga Beach on the same morning.

Police feared he may have gone into the water and not resurfaced.

They launched a large-scale water, ground and air search around the beach.

Today, he was found some 335 kilometres away in Quorn, a town within the Flinders Ranges.

He was arrested on an outstanding warrant and is expected to appear in the Port Augusta Magistrates Court today.
