A 6-month-old girl reported missing from a foster home in Rockwall, Texas, was found safe in Missouri on Monday morning, hours after an AMBER Alert was issued. The Rockwall Police Department confirmed that the child was located by the Missouri Highway Patrol east of Springfield, Missouri, along with her biological parents.

The child's parents, Dakota Brady and Margaret Van Aken, who had previously lost their parental rights, face pending criminal charges, according to the Rockwall Police. They allegedly took the child from her foster home, prompting law enforcement to issue the statewide AMBER Alert.

The alert was discontinued shortly after authorities found the vehicle mentioned in the alert at approximately 11 a.m. The Missouri Highway Patrol confirmed that the child was unharmed when officers located her.

In a statement shared on social media, Rockwall Police reiterated that both parents are facing charges, though further details were not immediately available.

According to the Child Crime Prevention & Safety Center, an estimated 840,000 children are reported missing in the U.S. annually, with family abductions accounting for about half of these cases. A 2022 AMBER Alert Report ranked Texas as the state with the highest number of AMBER Alerts issued, followed by Georgia and Florida.
