Miss Denmark Victoria Kjær Theilvig Makes History After Winning Miss Universe 2024

Miss Denmark Victoria Kjaer Theilvig has nabbed not only the crowd of Miss Universe 2024 but has also made history by becoming the country’s first representative to nab the highly-coveted beauty pageant crown.

It’s that time of the year again when women from across the globe battle it out across fashion categories and interviews for the title of Miss Universe.

In this year’s eleganza extravaganza, it was Denmark’s Theilvig who stole the show and took the title of Miss Universe in Mexico City.

Holding hands with Miss Nigeria’s Chidimma Adetshina, Theilvig squatted to the floor and covered her face — in true beauty pageant style — after it was announced that she won the event.

Last year’s Miss Universe, Nicaragua’s Sheynnis Palacios, then came over and passed on her ‘yuge crown, confirming Theilvig’s new duty as Miss Universe.

This year’s top five runner-ups for the pageant were:

• First runner-up: Chidimma Adetshina, Miss Nigeria
• Second runner-up: María Fernanda Beltrán, Miss Mexico
• Third runner-up: Suchata Chuangsri, Miss Thailand
• Fourth runner-up: Ileana Márquez, Miss Venezuela

As for Australia’s Zoe Creed, the Queensland model unfortunately didn’t make it into the top 30. However, she slayed with her evening gown and her national costume!

Theilvig’s win is truly one for the books as she not only becomes the 73rd Miss Universe, but she also becomes Denmark’s first-ever Miss Universe in history.

This year’s pageant also marked the first time women over the age of 28 were permitted to enter.

Per CNN, more than two dozen of the pageant’s finalists were older than the age restriction, with Miss Malta Beatric Njoya, 40, becoming the first and only woman to reach the grand finale.
