RTE star Miriam O'Callaghan and comedian Alan Shortt have helped to launch LauraLynn's annual Heroes Ball which will take place in March in the Manion House.
The popular event will take pace on Saturday, 4 March at The Round Room in the Mansion House, Dublin 2, and it will include a delicious gala dinner, live entertainment, and a fantastic auction with plenty of prizes up for grabs. This year, long-time LauraLynn patron Miriam O'Callaghan will serve as the Master of Ceremonies (MC) for the event and comedian Alan Shortt will oversee the charity auction.
Speaking at the launch of the LauraLynn Heroes Ball, Miriam O’Callaghan said: "I am honoured to be back once again this year as MC at the incredible Heroes Ball for LauraLynn.

She added: "It is a night in the calendar I look forward to each year, it is always a fantastic evening and all in aid of the wonderful work that LauraLynn do for so many children and families across Ireland.’’
Alan Shortt, who will oversee the charity auction on the day, said: "I am delighted to host the auction at the LauraLynn Heroes Ball this year. We have some amazing auction prizes up for grabs including bespoke artwork, holidays and training sessions for sport lovers I am delighted to host the auction at the LauraLynn Heroes Ball this year."
Miriam and Alan were joined at the launch this week by Sean Barnes from Co Wexford, who is one of the many children across the country that LauraLynn helps with hospice care. His parents Catherine and Ciaran Barnes said that he was "so excited" to take part in the launch.
The Barnes family were themselves referred to LauraLynn three years ago. They said: "We are so grateful for the support Sean and the whole family have received since our first visit. LauraLynn offers us the opportunity to take some much-needed planned short breaks.
"Visiting LauraLynn and knowing Sean is well looked after whilst there from his medical needs to the variety of fun activities provided, we can’t thank LauraLynn enough for giving us the opportunity to live the little moments.
"We are so grateful to the team at LauraLynn for the amazing work they do for our family and many others. Thank you to all who support the Heroes Ball and ensures LauraLynn is there for children like Sean and families like ours’," they added.
Since opening in 2011, LauraLynn has cared for over 640 children and their families, with more than 480 children and families availing of care and supports in 2022. The charity gala is due to take place at the Round Room, Mansion House on Saturday 4 March.
