Comedian and actor Miranda Hart appears to have rubbished rumours that her self-titled sitcom is about to return to our screens.
Several reports had surfaced yesterday (April 24) saying Miranda would be back on the BBC soon for a fourth series. The hit show first aired in 2009 and has been off-air for seven years after three successful series.
The show stars Hart playing a version of herself in a world where she runs a shop alongside her friend Stevie, played by Sarah Hadland. Episodes deal with her life which is constantly interrupted by her well-to-do mother Penny (Patricia Hodge) and old school mate Tilly (Sally Phillips), who is a bit of a socialite.

The show also deals with Miranda's infatuations with her friend Gary (Tom Ellis), who she eventually marries in the last episode which aired on January 1, 2015. The show has won multiple gongs including three British Comedy Awards and a trio of Royal Television Society Awards.
There had been much excitement after rumours of the show's return were made public. However, taking to Twitter this morning, Hart quashed the rumours.
Her post said: "It's so lovely when some people get excited there might be more Miranda. Means a lot.
"But I'm afraid what was in [the] papers today didn't come from me. Nothing planned at this time."
Along with this, Hart added: "And yes Twitter I look forward to all the "thank God for that" etc! This just for the few that were excited. No need to tell me that you’re relieved."
