Millions of mourners will turn out as the Queen makes her final journey on Monday.
Full details have been revealed with a minute-by-minute guide to Her Majesty’s state funeral.
Preparations will begin at 6.30am, before the one-hour service starts at Westminster Abbey at 11am. Afterwards, the coffin will travel to Windsor, where the late monarch will be laid to rest from 4pm.

6.30am
The doors of Westminster Hall will close, bringing an end to the lying in state. Preparations will begin for the procession to Westminster Abbey, for the state funeral.
8am
The doors of Westminster Abbey – less than a mile away – will be opened for the congregation to begin taking their seats. Heads of State, world leaders and royal families from across the globe will gather at Chelsea’s Royal Hospital before travelling to the abbey for
the funeral service.
10.35am
A special bearer party from The Queen’s Company, 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards will lift the Queen’s oak casket from the decorative catafalque and carry it in procession from Westminster Hall to the state gun carriage of the Royal Navy, which will be positioned outside the north door of the building.
10.44am
The state gun carriage will leave Westminster Hall’s New Palace Yard, travelling along Parliament Square, Broad Sanctuary and The Sanctuary, as it makes its way to Westminster Abbey. The route will be lined by the Royal Navy and Royal Marines.
10.52am
The procession will arrive at the abbey’s west gate where the bearer party will lift the coffin from the gun carriage and carry it into the abbey.
11am
The service will begin, conducted by the Dean of Westminster. Prime Minister Liz Truss and Secretary General of the Commonwealth, Patricia Scotland, will carry out readings, while the Archbishop of Canterbury, inset, and Archbishop of York will be among the faith leaders to say prayers.
11.55am
Last Post will sound, followed by a two-minute silence to be observed inside the abbey and across the country.
Noon
Reveille, the national anthem and a lament played by the Queen’s Piper will bring the state funeral service to an end. The bearer party will then carry the coffin through the Great West Door, returning to the gun carriage which will be positioned outside the west gate.
12.15pm
The coffin will be followed by the King and the Queen Consort, the Prince and Princess of Wales and members of the Royal Family who are to walk in procession to Wellington Arch in Green Park.
1pm
The procession will arrive at Wellington Arch, left, where the bearers will lift the casket from the carriage and place it in the state hearse. When secured, the hearse will begin its journey to Windsor, as the parade gives a salute and the national anthem is played.
King Charles and the Queen Consort, the Prince and Princess of Wales and members of the family will take a car to Windsor.
3.06pm
The state hearse will arrive at Albert Road and join the procession.
3.10pm
The procession will travel to St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, travelling down the iconic Long Walk, through Cambridge Gate, down Cambridge Drive and then the Parade Ground and Horseshoe Cloister Arch.
3.20pm
Governors and Prime Ministers from across the Commonwealth will arrive at the chapel’s west door and be escorted to their seats in the nave.
3.25pm
Members of the Royal Family who are not accompanying the coffin will arrive at the west door and be shown to their seats.
3.40pm
The King and members of the Royal Family who are walking in the procession will join the Queen’s coffin at the Quadrangle as it passes into Engine Court.
3.53pm
The procession will stop at the bottom of the west steps of St George’s Chapel, below, in Horseshoe Cloister. The bearer party will lift the coffin from the state hearse and Her Majesty will be carried in procession into the chapel.
4pm
The committal service will begin as the procession enters the chapel and the coffin is placed on a catafalque in the Quire. The service will be conducted by the Dean of Windsor, while prayers will be said by the Rector of Sandringham, the Minister of Crathie Kirk, the Chaplain of Windsor Great Park and the Dean of Windsor. Prior to the final hymn, the Imperial State Crown, the Orb and the Sceptre will be placed on the altar. The coffin will be lowered into the Royal Vault.
7.30pm
The Queen will be buried at the King George VI Memorial Chapel, where her late husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, and sister Princess Margaret are also interred. The private burial service will be conducted by the Dean of Windsor and attended by the King and the Royal Family.
